About Us
Dutch
Translation Services, established by Tineke Van Beukering, is based in
Capalaba, an Eastern suburb of Brisbane, Australia. Tineke was born and
raised in the Netherlands and is a native Dutch speaker. She lived in
Germany for 4 years before migrating to Australia in 2000. She was
fascinated by languages from an early age and is fluent in Dutch,
English and German and has a good command of French. In January
2008, she obtained NAATI accreditation as a professional translator Dutch ↔ English. She is a member of AUSIT (Australian
Institute of Interpreters and Translators), the professional
organisation for interpreters and translators in Australia.
In
addition to her language skills, Tineke has a highly scientific
background with a Masters degree in Science (Chemistry) and
postgraduate work experience in Fundamental Physics. She has worked as
system application manager handling large amounts of chemical data in
chemical databases and has worked on chemical research projects in the
Netherlands and in the USA using various types of spectroscopy.
Tineke
offers the unique combination of a scientist who is also an accredited
translator. These qualifications enable her to work on a broad range
of scientific projects. She specialises in
(bio)chemistry and physics and translates material such as Material
Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and chemical labels. She has extensive
experience in post-editing machine translated petrochemical documents
and MT process optimisation.
