AUSIT
The
professional organisation for translators and interpreters is AUSIT
(Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators). AUSIT offers a
range of training opportunities, forums and workshops to promote
professional development among translators and interpreters. In
1995, AUSIT established the "AUSIT Code of Ethics", a comprehensive set
of guidelines for professional conduct for practitioners in the field
of translating and interpreting. Members of AUSIT declare to adhere to
this code of conduct. By choosing an accredited translator or
interpreter who is also a member of AUSIT, you have the best guarantee
to work with a professional who is reliable, accurate and honest and
maintains total confidentiality.
